Several Church Fathers — such as Ignatius, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, John Chrysostom, Jerome, Ambrose, Augustine, and any more — are included in this study tool used to see their beliefs in their own words in relation to Scripture.
The Church Fathers Bible Commentary can be used to gain a historical understanding of numerous passages within the New Testament. For reference, the translation being used is the Douay-Rheims Bible (Challoner revision, 1899) — a longstanding and classic English Catholic translation. As this tool is developed, it will hopefully include plenty more citations, especially to prominent or controverisal passages in the Bible, allowing us to see the ancient beliefs on those passages to resolve their interpreations.
